A lot of hard work paid off as we scored two after peppering their goal most of the game. Good job, girls.

V @ St Dominic (Tournament) (0-2)

Varsity is 5-8-1.
We fought the good fight and played well, but were unable to capitalize on our chances after going down 0-2. Monica was a beast!

V @ Smith-Cotton in Tourn (0-1)

The Varsity is now 5-7-1.
It was another good, hard fought game in the blazing wind. The girls should be very proud of themselves.

V v Glendale @ Smith-Cotton Tourn (2-1)

The Varsity is now 5-6-1.
A beautiful, clean, hard-fought game that saw us give up a 2nd minute goal. We tied it before half and won it in the 2nd half.

V v Ray-Pec @ Smith-Cotton Tourn. (0-0, 2OT)

The Varsity is now 4-6-1.
A hard fought game (literally at times) that was wind driven. A strong wind throughout the game was a major factor. We were unable to finish our chances and we stopped theirs. The girls gave everything they could have.

The Varsity is now 4-6.
This was a hard fought match on both ends. Jeff City made the most of one of their scoring chances and we could not.

JV @ Jeff City (0-2)

The JV is now 1-4-1.
We played hard, but a couple of lapses in the first half led to goals. We were unable to capitalize on our opprtunities.

JV @ Francis Howell Central (0-0)

The JV is now 1-3-1.
While we did not take advantage of the chances we did have, this was a big game for us to come out and keep our heads up while not being able to score. This was a good tie for our team. We played the best game of our season (so far).

V @ Francis Howell Central (0-4)

The Varsity is now 4-5.
After switching the Varsity game from after the JV to before the JV to try to avoid the rain, the Varsity lost 0-4.

V v Rock Bridge (0-1, 2OT)

The Varsity is now 4-4.
This was a hard fought game from the first whistle to the final whistle. It's a shame it had to end on a penalty kick at the end of the second overtime. Both teams had their chances, but both goalkeepers had an outstanding game. If you did not see Monica's save on the corner kick in overtime, find someone who recorded it. It was brilliant.

JV v Rock Bridge (0-6)

The JV is now 1-3.
We came out hard, but could not get any possession. That led to multiple scoring opportunities for Rock Bridge. The first goal was a beautiful strike. Unfortunately, defensive let downs and the lack of possession throughout the remaining 60 minutes led to each of the remaining goals.

V v Lee's Summit West (1-2)

Columbia Tribune article
Columbia Missourian article
The Varsity is now 4-3. We played hard, but the ball did not bounce in our favour. We gave up a goal about 20 minutes through each half. We will look to rebound strong against Rock Bridge on Monday.

JV v Lee's Summit West

Columbia Parks and Rec closed the park due to weather. The game was cancelled. The JV is still 1-2 on the season.

V v Lindbergh (0-2)

The Varsity is now 4-2.
Similar to the JV, the varsity had to play against a quality team and a high speed wind after playing several games and a lot of traveling in the last week. They were fatigued. Unfortunately, two defensive mistakes allowed two goals. We are proud of the girls. We have played strong teams and are still 4-2.

JV v Lindbergh (0-4)

The JV is now 1-2.
After losing one player to a broken ankle, two to the ACT and another couple to injuries, we were down to 12 players. Unfortunately after playing the night before and the lack of bodies with fresh legs, we just did not have the stamina to play a game against a high level team and a high speed wind. Half time saw us down 0-2 and the second half we were simply out of energy.

V v Moberly (1-0)

Columbia Missourian article.
The Varsity is now 3-1.
This was a hard fought game between two good teams. It was unfortunate someone had to lose. We were just glad the Kewpies won. After 75 minutes of scoreless tie, Katie LaRue scored a hustle goal that was the only goal of the game. When asked by a reporter what single player turned the tide for the win, Coach G said, "No one. This was a team win."

JV v Moberly (3-1)

The JV is now 1-1.
This was a very competitive, hard fought game. We went down 0-1 at the 5th minute. It was great to see the girls go down a goal, but continue to fight and win a game. We scored the equalizer five minutes later when Aubrey and Cassidy served Lauren C. for a goal. We had several key saves by Lauren S. Annie scored unassisted off of a free kick in the 33rd minute to end the first half with a score of 2-1. In the 4th minute of the second half, Kaitlyn went down with a broken ankle and appears to be lost for the season. The ensuing drop ball led to a loose ball that Caroline and Claire E. fought Moberly for before Caroline was able to finish for the hustle goal.

Underdog--Life explained through Scrubs

V at Nerinx Hall (0-5)

The Varsity is now 3-1. Similar to the JV, the girls started off strong. There was an early goal in the first half, but that was all the scoring until the second half. The Kewpies had their chances keyed off of good pressure on the Nerinx backs by the strikers and midfielders, but were unable to capitalize. Nerinx broke through again in the 53rd minute, 55th minute and another two late goals that finished the game at 0-5.

JV at Nerinx Hall (0-7)

We are 0-1 this season. We started out strong, but when Nerinx scored their first goal, it seemed to take the wind out of our sails. We ended the first half down 0-6. There were some bright spots, while we gave up a lot of goals, the girls kept fighting and kept fighting highlighted by a good scoring opportunity and shot on goal to end the half as well as a ball that was cleared off our goal line by a defender late in the game. The girls came out strong again in the second half and only allowed one goal. We also had multiple scoring opportunities that we were unfortunate not to convert on.
